Some Interesting Burials In St Jerome's Churchyard, Llangwm

Monuments can become unstable.

There is a deep trench around the Church building.

John Brock of Middle Hook was Parish Clerk of Llangum. This is the only found instance of the village name spelt this way.

Watcher and Searcher at Black Tar Quay. A Watcher was a customs officer who waited for ships arriving on the tide and collected duty on imported goods. A Searcher was a customs officer who searched newly arrived ships for contraband.

A victim of the oyster boat tragedy of 1835, which also claimed the lives of Peter Adulph (memorial ref. 12) and Robert Lewis (memorial ref. 22). The memorials for Adulph and Lewis are placed against the wall near the churchyard gate.
