Researchers Jessica and Anna led the search for documents.

Liz researched the Flemings' family tree,
and identified the effigies.

The male effigy after restoration,
now known to be Sir Robert De La Roche.

Neil inserted a small camera into the effigies'
tomb chests to see what they contained;
the answer: rubble.

Excavation of the church floor for a new heating
system revealed - a Victorian heating system.

DNA testing got underway early in the project -
and eventually revealed an extraordinary result.

Evelyn launched our first website for us.

Local artist Fran Evans designed the tapestry,
based on the drawings of local school children.

The tapestry stitchers showed off
their work to admiring onlookers.

Stitching the tapestry was sometimes an excuse for a natter.

Local MP Stephen Crabb has a go at stitching.

There were celebrations when the
tapestry was finally complete.

And finally there it was, up on the church wall.

The tapestry was declared open on 17th March 2017 -
accompanied by the music of La Volta.

Fran's drawings for the tapestry were
animated by Sian for the app.

The dig involved more than just digging.

But the digging was hard work!

We found some medieval fragments ...

and some Mesolithic flints.

Filming for The Search for Little Flanders
involved a lot of dressing up.
